Mulan-inspired dress, as requested by music-is-soul-love ! Hope you enjoy!
The dress design is supposed to be a black dress embraced by phoenix wings. I think the Phoenix is a pretty good symbol for Mulan, considering the whole rebirth by ashes concept. Her old self who struggled to match people’s expectations slowly died off as the movie progressed, and she emerged as a stronger, more beautiful person.
Aaaaand phoenixes also have to do with yin and yang symbolism in Chinese culture I believe, so there’s some reference to the sequel movie. ;)

I don’t think I’m brilliant at all—I just love to doodle and such! So I guess any talent I have would just come from practice and looking at art in general? I really don’t know! <3

Finally getting back on track. Here’s a {pre} “I See the Light” inspired dress, as requested by Jessy! {lunaresse}. It’s supposed to be the reflection of the castle on the lake, with the flowers Rapunzel was placing, and water ripples.
